RELIX: The Book - The Grateful Dead Experience

Writing a book is hard work. It took two years to compile 27 years worth of material into the best of the best of Relix Magazine. Starting from the first issue in 1974, through 2001, my final year as owner/publisher/editor, I read every word that was ever published in what started out as a tape trading newsletter for Deadheads.

As I read the old issues, the historic significance of what I was working with hit home. Documenting the fanbase of the Grateful Dead was amazing. Deadheads… Continue

Tommie Brewster SongVault finals chart

>

Some months back I had three songs on Song Vault simultaneously at Number One and one of those,

Can't Leave You Alone, has stayed in the chart ever since.

I added two new songs a couple of weeks ago which went to number one and number two in the

Song Vault Showcase chart.

They just told me that these two songs now moved up in to the Finals Chart which means I

again have three tracks in the Finals Chart… Continue

Top 10 Mistakes Artists Make

by David Hooper

If you want to get a record deal, get people to your shows, or sell music like crazy, the answer isn’t some kind of “magic pill” website that you post your music on, blindly sending out a bunch of demos, or anything to do with having good music… although good music certainly helps. The answer is to develop a mindset that naturally attracts people to what you’re doing as well as an understanding of how the music business game is played.

As you develop as a… Continue

HTR022 ARKHAM 13: BLOODFIEND CD

Release date: 19 August 2009 - AVAILABLE FROM MELODIC REVOLUTION in OCTOBER

It's Derek NEGLECT'S (!!!) long lasting metal band! Old school thrash, death and doom mixed with hardcore intensity. Definitely not lazy or boring retro shit, and definitely nothing "nu", don't be afraid! "Bloodfiend" was supposed to come out years ago, but the band wasn't lucky with labels. Derek contacted us about this unreleased, yet fully mixed and mastered CD, and we were more than happy to help out in… Continue

Introducing Ceilí Moss

Hi to all revolutionaries around, I'd like to take a minute to introduce the band Ceilí Moss as we just created our profile a few minutes ago.

We are a 6-strong acoustic folk-rock band from Belgium and to cut long and tedious explanations, let's say the most often heard/read comparisons are The Pogues, The Levellers, Ambrozijn, Les Orges de Barback, The Waterboys, Tri Yann, Garmarna or Kadril.

Come and push the door of our pub, there's a glass waiting for you!

Tommie Brewster featured on mystagemusic.com for September

I joined mystagemusic.com only about 10 days ago after following a link given me by a very very nice guitarist friend of mine.

One more site to get used to, one more site to spend hours ( this is New Zealand here folks -

broadband is a figment of someone's imagination!) uploading mp3s and a few pics, one more

site to browse around and see how many familiar faces are there.

The Music Of Poligraf : The Chrome Lake part 5

"Introspection II" is the fifth section, and second with vocals, of "The Chrome Lake." And as is the case for its almost-but-not-identical twin "Introspection I," the subject matter is pretty much self-explanatory.

Verse

I see you feel restrained, mechanized, dehumanized

I see you feel estranged, incomplete, dissatisfied

Anything for a refuge, an…
