- Blair Dollery is one of London top Rock/Alternative/Blues Guitarists who's 17 years playing and in the industry has taken him from front man and Lead Guitarist of bands to hired guitarist for Singer/Songwriters, his journey has taken him to all kinds of gigs and recording projects and now his pathway leads to his Solo Career.
Blair Grew up in Feltham Middlesex and from when he was a boy it was clear his interest would be of the musical kind. At the age of 14 he started guitar lessons and began to get hooked onto the Britpop scene following bands and artists such as Oasis, Blur, Suede and Paul Weller. His musical direction was to take a different route though when his Stepfather a music enthusiast and hippy handed him a Jimi Hendrix tape and Derek and the Dominoes "Music was always around me as a kid, Mum would be playing Donna Summer and Country music, my stepfather would be blasting The Beatles and Fleetwood Mac and at weekends my father would be playing Chuck Berry and Fats Domino, I had no choice really! I remember playing the Hendrix tape though....A door opened inside me and i changed forever i think"
As the years passed Blair would sit and listen to Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page and other great guitarists trying to copy their riffs and licks and learning the meaning of tone "Alot of guitarists dont know the meaning of tone, alot just pick up a popular brand guitar plug it in and hope for the best, Real tone comes from the wood, fingers and heart....if you can understand these three your on the way to getting good guitar tone"
