Shouse

Shouse was born Michael Stephen Shouse on September 27th, 1970 in Jackson, KY. His twin brother Charles works in video production. After high school Mike went onto Morehead State University and obtained a bachelors degree in Secondary Art Education. In 1992 he moved to LA and attended the Guitar Institute of Technology in Hollywood. Later returning to Kentucky where he has taught art for the last 18 years. He received his master’s degree in Nude Figure drawing from the University of Kentucky and Morehead State.

Mike has written articles and lessons for on-line sites such as chopsfromhell.com and guitar9.com, and has been featured in magazines like Progression, Fireworks and The Sound guitar magazines. Mike teaches guitar at the Music Institute of Lexington, KY and writes a monthly article in the Music Entertainment Magazine.

Mike released “Enter the Soul” his debut CD in 2001 and the song “Man” was on a compilation CD “International Anthems: Volume 1” in 2002. Mike’s second album “Alone on the Sun” was released in Jun 2010 and has received rave reviews worldwide.
In 2011 the title track “Alone on the Sun” was not only selected from over 1000 submissions, but was chosen GOLD WINNER - BEST OVERALL by Gods of Indie Guitar 2011. The Gods of Indie Guitar CD was released in 2011.

Shouse is working on new material for the upcoming, as yet untitled album to be released in late 2012 early 2013. Melodic Revolution Records will also add to its catalog for distribution and sale Mike’s two previous releases “Alone on the Sun” (2010) and “Enter the Soul” (2001).
