John Orr Franklin

Reaching Ground in Austin, TX some 12 years ago, John Orr Franklin has setup and established a home base where he writes and records music out of his private recording facility. From the time of his first guitar lessons as a teenager, John also studied the art of music production and song writing. This has all culminated into a song and technology crafting environment that led him to start his own record label to release his creations via the do it yourself world of internet marketing. Blue Room Digital Music was founded in 2007.

John has released three solo albums in the United States as well as a Live DVD for a concert that he also self-produced. In addition, a Japanese only compilation album was released in 2011 entitled “Perception” in Chaku-Uta format.

John’s music has been compared to work by David Gilmour, Alan Parsons and Joe Satriani among others.

John's fourth album is an epic album under the name of The John Orr Franklin Project entitled "Reaching Ground" a science fiction based concept album that is taking his progressive rock leanings into a new and bolder direction.

While The John Orr Franklin Project is currently striving to perform the Reaching Ground album on stages around the world; the John Orr Franklin Project continues to produce new material in the studio in Austin. Never one to stop the wheels of inspiration from turning, another new step and new direction is in the works with an album entitled "The Celestial Mechanics"that will be released in early 2013.
